What I thought about was this: I noticed that we receive a lot of port-scans for port 25. As soon as you open port 25 and install a mailer you'll reveive a lot of spam on this port. Thus, spammers scan for smtp-servers and try to place their spam on these mailers, using them as a relay. With a Teergrube installed

I don't know for how long it will be safe, but I receive no spam on certain purpose made spam traps on some of my sites. recipient<code>@</code>yourwebsite.com I also have a comment to ask the site visitor to cut and paste that into their email, so its not a mailto: link, but it does the job.
